Copyright policy

Draft for review. The final version will be reviewed by an attorney before launch.

Ribbon & Reply is built on original work by independent designers, and we take copying seriously. This page explains how to report a design or upload that infringes your copyright, and how we handle it under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

Reporting a copy

If you think a design on our site copies your work, email our designated agent with:

1. Your name, address, phone number and email.

2. A description of your original work, with a link or image showing it and when you first published it.

3. The link to the design on our site that you believe copies it.

4. This statement: “I have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.”

5. This statement: “The information in this notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, I am the owner, or authorized to act on behalf of the owner, of the copyright that is allegedly infringed.”

6. Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name works).

Our designated agent

Copyright Agent, Ribbon & Reply LLC · hello@ribbonandreply.com

Mailing address: provided upon registration with the U.S. Copyright Office.

What happens next

When we receive a complete notice, we remove the design from the site while we look into it and let the designer know.

We keep dated records of every upload and submission. When two designs are too close, we protect the designer who submitted first.

If your design was removed

If you believe your design was removed by mistake, you can send a counter-notice with your contact information, the design that was removed, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe it was removed by mistake, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district.

If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may restore the design after 10 to 14 business days unless the person who reported it tells us they’ve filed a court action.

Repeat infringers

Designers who repeatedly upload work that infringes others’ rights lose their shop, and earnings from copied designs are reversed.
